Kathy, Director

Kathy has taught and directed Early Childhood programs for over 30 years. After receiving her degree in Early Childhood Education she became a full time teacher at Messiah Lutheran in Park Ridge, IL. Kathy taught for over 14 years at Messiah. In 1993 her family moved to Wadsworth, Illinois. It was then that she began her career at New Generations Child Development Center in Lindenhurst. Kathy was employed for over 11 years at New Generations, serving as director. She also worked at Waukegan Head Start for one year before coming to Holy Cross.  Roxanne, Assistant Director

My name is Roxanne but my nickname is Rocky. I have lived in the Gurnee area for over 20 years with my three kids. I have graduated college from the University of Iowa. I have been working in the Early Childhood field for over 25 years. In my free time I enjoy working out, walking my dog, and watching movies. I love pizza and ice cream! I am really happy to have the opportunity to work at Celebration.

Linda has been at Celebration since 2007. After thirty years in banking, Linda decided to try something new. God’s plan for me has been awesome! I love being part of a school that provides a caring and safe environment for children to learn. Parents can go to work and know their children are safe and happy.

After many years working in a hospital medical records department, I “retired” to childcare. That was the happiest career move I ever made! As the mother of three grown children and grandmother to four 9 to 12 year olds, I have a long history of loving children and am blessed to have them in my daily life.

I have been working at Celebration for over 5 years. I have worked with children of all ages and am currently in our toddler/twos room! I am nearing my last year of schooling to earn my associates degree in Early Childhood Education. I hope to one day move up to a director position of a childcare center.  I have 2 children, a daughter and son. I also am an animal lover and have two dogs and a cat. I just bought my first house in the McHenry area.

Erika began at Celebration in September. She started in as the pm green room assistant and moved into the blue room. Erika has one son. She lives with her boyfriend and two dogs in the Waukegan Area. Erika is currently in school to further her education. She would one day like to be a childcare teacher.

I have been teaching preschool age children for over 20 years. My degree is in Early Childhood Education. I love the preschool age child because it is exciting to watch each child grow and develop in new skills and knowledge. My family consists of my husband of 20 years and two teenagers. As a family we are involved in our local church. We like to go camping and go on long walks or hikes.

Jennifer has worked with children of all ages including toddlers. After receiving her degree in elementary education, she substituted in grade schools and then taught first grade at a private school for seven years. She has experience in planning and implementing after-school programs and summer camps for school age children. Jenny lives in Zion with her husband and daughter.

Lisa has been involved with teaching for over 20 years. She began working in childcare in 2005 then joined the Celebration! Childcare team in the summer of 2007.  She holds a B.A. in psychology and philosophy from Lake Forest College. Much of her teaching time has been volunteering in Sunday school programs, first as a teacher, then as part of the Administrative team. (A position she continues to hold.) She makes her home with husband, David, her two children.

Nancy has been working as the green room assistant for over 3 years. She loves working with children. She has 5 children of her own and takes the summers off to spend time with them. Family is very important to her. Both Nancy and her husband are runners. They enjoy training together for marathons and races.

Nancy has worked as an aid and a teacher for Celebration since 2010. She has been involved as a teacher/coach for the art and sport of figure skating, teaching children for over 20 years. Her professional experience also includes graphic and broadcast design as well as a career following high school as a professional ice skater.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in communication arts from Columbia College and has completed graduate studies for a Master of Arts in teaching degree from National Louis University with endorsements in art, science, and psychology. She has pre-clinical experience in occupational therapy. She enjoys the art and science of teaching while watching children learn and grow in a quality environment.
